WordPress & WooCommerce plugins
Shipping labels on your WordPress site
Two official plugins connect your site to your Postage account: quote live rates, and buy real shipping labels paid from your account balance. Pick the one that matches your site.
Requires PHP 8.0+, WordPress 6.0+ and a free Postage account.
Running a store? Use WooCommerce
Live Postage rates as delivery options at checkout, then buy the real label for each order โ manually or automatically. Your shopper pays for shipping through your normal checkout. Read the WooCommerce guide.
No store? Use plain WordPress
Drop a rate calculator on any page with a shortcode, and optionally let people buy a label. No WooCommerce required. Read the WordPress guide.
Building something custom?
Both plugins are thin wrappers over the same public REST API โ quote, cart, order, label. See the API documentation.
Which plugin do I need?
Both plugins talk to the same Postage account and can be installed side by side โ the WooCommerce one for your store, the WordPress one for a standalone quote form on a non-store page.
| Postage for WordPress | Postage for WooCommerce | |
|---|---|---|
| Needs WooCommerce | No | Yes (8.0+) |
| Live rate quotes | Shortcode on any page | Delivery options at checkout |
| Buys real labels | Yes, via a shortcode | Yes, per order + as a product |
| Who pays for the label | Your account balance | Your account balance |
| Shopper is charged | Not handled โ no checkout | Yes, through WooCommerce checkout |
| Access control | A setting (default: logged-in users) | Your normal WooCommerce checkout |
| Webhooks for status | No | Yes (recommended) |
The important difference. Buying a label always spends your Postage account balance. WooCommerce has a real checkout, so your shopper pays you first. Plain WordPress has no checkout โ so the WordPress plugin's buy-a-label shortcode spends your balance with nothing collected from the visitor unless you arrange payment yourself. It defaults to logged-in users only for exactly this reason.
Three steps to your first label
The same for both plugins โ about ten minutes.
